We supply Gauteng with the finest quality restored oak wine barrels for use as dècor items.

While our barrels are not primarily aimed at wine making, we can certainly customise a barrel for you for this purpose.

What's the difference? The oak used in the making of a barrel soaks up the liquid stored inside it, and like all wood products swell up as a result. This swelling cause for the barrel to become watertight as it expands within the bands holding it together. Without the fluid inside, a barrel becomes "loose" as the wood dries out over time, and the slats will eventually fall out.

Because most of our barrels are used as dècor items, and therefore normally holds no liquid, we have to glue the slats together so that the barrel does not start falling apart over time. This glue makes it unsuitable for storing anything for human consumption.

We normally have stock readily available for dècor items, but for other purposes we might need a few days to prepare your genuine oak barrel.

Our full 300 litre oak barrels are priced from as low as R899 each, and various other items such as half- and quarter-barrels are also available. We also have a wide range of other oak barrel products such as benches, tables and bars. There are countless other ideas for usage for our oak barrels - they have even been utilized for dog kennels and bird's nests! If you have a unique idea for the application of your genuine oak barrel, please let us know.
